HOW TO PUT ON A CONDOM!
Male
condoms are used on the penis. Female condoms can be used in the vagina
or rectum. The most common condom
mistake is putting the condom on inside out. It should unroll smoothly
and easily from the rim on the outside. "If you have to struggle, or if
takes more than a few seconds to put on a condom, it's inside out. Putting
on a condom can be fun especially if your partner helps.
Using
a Male Condom:
1.
Check the condom packet, feeling for the air pocket in the package that
will let you know that the condom has not been damaged.
2.
Open the package carefully.
3.
Check to see which way the condom rolls and make sure that you are
putting it on correctly.
4.
Put the condom on when your penis is erect - but before it touches your
partner's mouth, vagina, or rectum. The liquid that comes out of the penis
before orgasm can contain HIV.
5.
If you want, put some water-based lubricant inside the tip of the condom.
If you are not circumcised, push your foreskin back before you put on a
condom. This lets your foreskin move without breaking the condom. Squeeze
the air out of the tip of the condom to leave room for semen (cum) and
unroll the rest of the condom down the penis.
6. Do
not "double bag" (use two condoms). Friction between the condoms increases
the chance of breakage.
7.
If the condom comes off inside your partner, don't panic. The safest
thing is to go to the bathroom and pass it out naturally with a little
pressure on the bowel. Trying to retrieve it any other way can cause
damage or rupture to the condom.
8.
After orgasm, pull out gently while penis is still erect. Hold the rubber
at the base of the penis while pulling out, so the rubber does not leak,
or slip off. Sometimes when a person has just reached climax removing his
penis is the last thing on his mind so if you are on the receiving end
you can assist. Make sure that you have a hold on the end of the condom
located at the base of the penis as you remove the penis by shifting your
hips to the side or however it would be comfortable according to what position
you finish in. Take the condom off carefully so the semen does not
spill. Roll it off starting at the base of the penis. Discard the used
condom. Never use the same rubber twice. No one knows how long a virus
lives outside the body, so it is good to wash hands after sex.
9.
Make sure to use a new condom if you are going to have sex again.
Using
a Female Condom:
The
female condom is a sleeve of polyurethane with a closed end and a larger
open end. There is a flexible ring in each end.
1.
Put the condom in place before your partner's penis touches your vagina
or rectum.
2.
For use in the vagina, squeeze the smaller ring and insert it into the
vagina, like inserting a diaphragm. The larger ring goes over the opening
to the vagina to protect the outside sex organs from infection.
3.
For use in the rectum, remove the smaller ring. Put the condom over your
partner's erect penis. The condom will be inserted into the rectum along
with the penis.
4.
Guide the penis into the large ring to avoid unprotected contact between
the penis and the partner's rectum or vagina.
5.
After sex, remove the condom before standing up. Twist the large outer
ring to keep the semen inside. Gently pull the condom out and throw it
away.
Anal
Intercourse With A Condom:
Anal
Intercourse with a condom is very similar to vaginal intercourse, just
make sure to use extra lubricant and be very gentle. The rectum has
a much smaller opening than a vagina, and is therefore more likely to be
injured during intercourse.
Putting
A Condom On With Your Mouth:
1.
Use an unlubricated or flavored condom (lubricated or spermicide condoms
taste awful) and put it in your mouth so that the reservoir tip is facing
your throat.
2.
With your tongue take the reservoir tip and press it against the ridge
behind your front teeth squeezing out any air.
3.
Place the condom on the end of a hard penis.
4.
If uncircumcised use your hands to pull foreskin back.
5.
With your lips, or ever so lightly with your teeth unroll condom over penis.
